Catherine Matavao designed the Natcoll image, as a representation of the ongoing relationship between Natcoll and Tamaki College.
"The colours I used were warm feeling colours, close to the colours used at Natcoll".
"The middle image is of a girl who represents the youth of today, the people who the message 'Do what inspires you' is aimed at. It is to inspire them to move onto greater things in life after school, and Natcoll is a tertiary institute that students might want to choose".
"The koru pattern and hibiscus flower are there to include the people and culture of this school - Pacific and Māori."
ICT Print Media is an academic course that focuses on applying Print Media design skills and ICT within the context of technology education.
Students use industry standard ICT software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and apply the design process to develop solutions based on a specific design brief that is developed by the student.
The course aims to develop skills and knowledge in planning, critical analysis, design, production and evaluation using a range of ICT peripherals.
The following blogs are examples of student work (some requesting feedback on different aspects of design), interviews and completed portfolios.

Year Book Concepts - Catherine
The following is a series of design concepts for the 2008 Year Book for Tamaki College Year 13 graduates. Any feedback on the design concepts in terms of image and font choices, and the placement of text and images would be much appreciated.
hi catherine,... i like the weaving element in some of your designs. Keepi g quite a neutral, natural colur pallette would complement this weave then you could make things stand out with a bit of bright red or blue here and there !! :) Miss Ferguson
