ICT Print Media at Tamaki College

ICT Print Media is an academic course that focuses on applying Print Media design skills and ICT within the context of technology education.

Students use industry standard ICT software, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and apply the design process to develop solutions based on a specific design brief that is developed by the student.

The course aims to develop skills and knowledge in planning, critical analysis, design, production and evaluation using a range of ICT peripherals.

The following blogs are examples of student work (some requesting feedback on different aspects of design), interviews and completed portfolios.

Tamaki Story Concept 1 - Nathan

Here is sketch design concept of a greeting card design I am currently in the process of making. The card relates to the Tamaki Story. I would appreciate some feedback about what you like and what you don't like about the placement of text and images on the design.

The following is a brief description of different parts of the design concept:
  1. the Tamaki Story logo would be placed in the top, right hand corner of the design
  2. the blue colour in the middle is a faded washout
  3. the squares at the bottom hold images that will relate to the 'value'
  4. the double spaced lined under the value 'Aroha' will have a provert, whakatauki or quote that will help give the value more meaning

Thanks, Nathan

Tamaki Story Concept 2 - Nathan

This is my second design concept for greeting cards, that I would like feedback for.

The design concept includes the following:
  1. images will be vertically placed on the left hand side
  2. the 'value' will be placed in the middle, in bold and large, with a quote underneath relating to the 'value'
  3. the Tamaki Story log will be placed in the top left hand corner
Thanks, Nathan
